![]() ![]() With a 64-bit OS and the 1.15 optimizations I would expect better results than I had previously. Now that I have a 4GB model Pi4, and 64-bit OS versions are an option, I've been meaning to give it a try again, but I haven't found the time. It wasn't terrible, but it was annoying enough that I gave up on it at the time and continued using an old, broken Sony laptop as our server (1st gen mobile i7 with 8GB RAM). ![]() If you still have any other Java installed, remove that first.īack when I got my first 2GB Pi4B and 32-bit Raspbian was the only OS option, I set up a test server for version 1.14 and had some trouble with lag spikes and rubber-banding. If java -version does not return any working Java on your system, then sudo apt install openjdk-8-jre should get you up and running. Some Minecraft mods require Java 8 (and that's also the version still supplied with Minecraft Java Edition for Windows), so I used openjdk-8-jre on my server when I upgraded it to Minecraft version 1.15.1 (I switched from an old version of Oracle Java 8 to the latest OpenJDK 8 JRE, and everything is running well). I would need oracle's java for this correct? ![]() I am looking to setup a minecraft server to test some things out. ![]()
